The Abike Amosun Foundation has empowered 115 youths in Ogun State with start-up grants aimed at fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurial success. The beneficiaries, mainly from Ayetoro-Yewa, headquarters of Yewa North Local Government Area, were selected through a one-day business empowerment programme organized by the Foundation in collaboration with the Ayetoro Youths Association.
The event, held at the New Gbadebo Omidokun Hall, was part of the Foundation’s broader effort to reshape the mindset of the Yewa-Awori youths, steering them away from harmful economic activities such as smuggling and encouraging legitimate business ventures. Toluwalope Abike Amosun, founder of the Foundation, emphasized the importance of providing rural communities with the skills and resources necessary to build sustainable, self-sufficient livelihoods.
With over 600 youths in attendance, the event featured a range of training sessions in various fields, including shoe and bag making, catering, fashion design, graphic design, and arts and crafts. The programme is a testament to the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and economic development in Ogun State.
