Fifteen prisoners who were incarcerated for different periods of time at four Kwara State Custodial Centers were released.
Two prisoners were released by Justice Abiodun Adewara, the chief judge of Kwara State, while the federal government paid the penalties of thirteen prisoners to guarantee their release.
The 15 prisoners were released on Tuesday after the chief judge and other pertinent members of the Criminal Justice Administration’s Justice Reform Sector Committee paid a visit to the Old Ilorin Custodial Centre in Okekura, the state capital.
Adeyinka Oyun, the state controller of the Correctional Center, welcomed the team.
The main goal of the activity, according to Chief Judge Adewara, was to clear out the prisons.
Adewara urged the released prisoners to behave well while thanking the Correctional Service officers, men, and other pertinent partners who took part in the exercise.

He expressed gratitude to the federal government and the Controller General of Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa, Kwara State, for establishing a welcoming atmosphere for the employees and prisoners housed in the state’s detention facilities.
