Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, has issued a warning that Nigeria should not be allowed to slide into the wrong hands as it prepares for the general elections of 2023.
Fayemi issued the warning.
When hosting All Progressives Congress (APC) State Publicity Secretaries in the South West region of the country, he remarked that Nigerians should do everything in their power to guarantee that the country keeps traveling down the path of stability, prosperity, and grandeur.
Fayemi pledged that he was prepared to lead campaigns to achieve victory for the candidates of his party in the general election of 2023. Fayemi created history as the first governor in Ekiti State to take over to a successor.
According to the former chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, “as a progressive party made up of resourceful and ardent patriots, we must make sure that no effort is spared to mobilize support for our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is unquestionably the best among the group of candidates vying to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in office come May 2023.”
“We are equipped to run an effective campaign for our presidential candidate and other contenders. Particularly, the presidential race is up for grabs.
The State Publicity Secretaries had already referred to Fayemi as an Emeritus Governor who had rendered outstanding service to his state and nation.
Despite finishing his two terms as governor as required by law, the ex-Ekiti helmsman was exhorted by his publicists to continue contributing more of himself to Nigeria and mankind in general.
They praised the ex-choice governor’s to give up his desire to lead the nation in favor of supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who finally won the party’s nomination for president, as patriotic and statesmanlike.
Recall that the former minister of solid minerals abruptly withdrew from the APC presidential primaries and expressed his support for Senator Tinubu. Since then, the former minister has been working tirelessly to assure Tinubu’s win in the 2023 presidential election.
The declaration of the recently-resigned governor of Ekiti State as an Emeritus Governor in recognition of his high-profile leadership, which was marked by multiple accomplishments and an impressive record of service to the nation, was the highlight of the courtesy visit.
Hons. Tunde Oladunjoye (Ogun), Segun Dipe (Ekiti), Alex Kalejaye (Ondo), Adunola Oyewole (Osun), and Olawale Sadare (Oyo) were among the party publicists present at the meeting; Seye Oladejo (Lagos) was sadly absent.
