2023: IN GOMBE, HOODLUMS SET FIRE TO A PDP CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION OFFICE AND BILLBOARDS.

The Barde Campaign Organization’s office building was set on fire by thugs on Monday. According to reports, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had its premises and billboards vandalized by criminals thought to be political thugs.

Alh Muhammad Jibrin Barde, a PDP candidate for governor, responded to the terrible occurrence by denouncing it and highlighting the need to involve the bright young people of Gombe in something worthwhile.

“The Good People of Gombe State are hereby urged to reject this act of injustice on the ballot in 2023,” he said.

“The Barde Agenda is anchored on security of lives and property, equitable opportunity for youth and women, quick infrastructure development, and provision of a level playing field for the opposition devoid of any excessive persecution,” says Barde.

A threat to the state’s fragile peace, it must be forcefully denounced by everybody, he added, the heinous attack on this structure having confirmed the current government’s stance on violence and destruction.

Police affirm the assault

The event has been confirmed by Oqua Etim, the commissioner of police for Gombe State. In a phone conversation with newsmen, Etim expressed the opinion that it was too soon to inquire about an incident that occurred this evening. So please be patient with me; we are not magicians. We will identify the cause of the burning after we have finished our inquiry, Etim continued.
