Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has indicated that the party has 23 governors, whilst the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will only have seven governors in the general election of 2023.
The former governor of Edo made this statement while arguing that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, is well-positioned to prevail in the upcoming elections.
After a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Friday, Oshiomhole told State House reporters, “So if you ask me how we are doing, we are doing extremely well. We have twenty-three governors in comparison to the other [PDPcurrent ]’s battle, which includes five governors who withdrew.
“Now, if you add twenty-three to five, we have twenty-three with five. I’m not suggesting the five are with us. That must be twenty-eight, then. Twenty-eight from thirty-six is subtracted, leaving only eight governors—actually seven, as the other one in APGA is absent.
