Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, pleaded with Nigerians over the weekend to support the ruling party in the general elections scheduled for next year.
At the funeral service for Rotimi Akeredolu, the late Ondo state governor’s mother, Grace Akeredolu, conducted at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew’s in Imola, Owo, Tinubu appealed to Nigerians.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo spoke in place of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigerians were promised by Tinubu that the ruling “APC would do better”
“Thank God we are alive, even though our expectations may have flaws and deficiencies.
“Nobody wants to fail. You can’t abandon us. We’ll perform better.
“We’ll help make any improvements you might want.
The Rev. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi has already remarked that “The poor are getting poorer. Nigeria need transformation to provide safety and security in the countryside.
We need a government that understands economics, according to Rev. Fagbemi. In this country, life is difficult. Let our leaders exercise caution so that we can advance. The hospital is the ideal starting point for a campaign.
He informed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress, that God had put him in a position where he could make a difference.
“Visit hospitals and schools to learn about life in Nigeria. I urge you to campaign at FMC in Owo and see what the future holds.
Because of the life of devotion to God and humanity that their mother led, Rev. Fagbemi pleaded with Governor Akeredolu and his siblings to immortalize her.
Speaking through Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President Buhari declared that the mother of the Ondo Governor’s life was worthy of celebration.
“Today is a day of enormous joy,” he said. We have arrived at the point where we must honor one of the greatest legacies.
It’s time to honor Mama for all of her wonderful deeds. Grace Akeredolu lived a life that deserves to be honored. She was 50 when she lost her spouse, and she lived to be 90.
She raised her offspring. She put a lot of work into raising four boys.
She performed quite well. We must give God praise because not only did she raise her children well, but they have all achieved success.
“Her dedication to God and humanity is what we should most be honoring. We honor the life of a remarkable woman who gave her best to God and her neighborhood.
In response to a sermon, Governor Akeredolu stated that the Southwest had a crop of politicians of which the people could be quite proud.
We have heard your political sermon, Akeredolu stated. The sermon was lovely to hear. Although I know we are doing our best as politicians, I won’t argue with you. It might not be suitable for all people.
“You ought to include what we have done as well. Please keep us in your prayers so that we can do our best.
“We’ll investigate it. Not that we are not making an effort. We are not without faults. In the Southwest, we have a crop of politicians to be incredibly proud of.
However, the governor expressed confidence that Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun State, will prevail in the tribunal.
