In the upcoming 2023 presidential election, Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, expressed concerns about the likelihood that the People’s Democratic Party, or PDP, will win the South-West and South-East areas of the nation.
This claim was made by Fayose during an interview with Politics Today on Thursday on Channels Television.
Let me give you an analysis, he said. I know this may not sit well with some in the South-West, but I don’t think PDP will win. Anyone fooling us may do so in the future. PDP won’t be able to win in the South-East, in my opinion. All interests will be combined in the south-south. Let me travel to the important northern states.
“Without fooling ourselves, the north central has a lot of work to do.
“Neither the PDP nor the APC chose a presidential or vice presidential candidate from the north central. The APC’s vice-presidential candidate hails from the North-East.
“Our party will receive Adamawa state. Remember that there is still another Kwankwaso, a semi-cancer that has the potential to rival prominent personalities in the north, he advised.
Peter Obi, LP, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, could have an impact on the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chances in the 2023 elections, according to Fayose.
Finding a means to make peace with the Wike people would also be beneficial, he added. “Reconciling or negotiating with Obi will be a good thing,” he said.
