Supporters advocating the political comeback of former President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday made a dramatic appearance at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) elective convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The group, carrying flags and banners with Jonathan’s portrait, openly promoted a proposed 2027 presidential ticket with the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, as his running mate.
Their display heightened ongoing speculations about Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race. Although the former president has not publicly declared interest, his close associates have hinted at his willingness to contest in the 2027 elections.
Posters of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, were also seen around the convention grounds on Friday, adding to the political intrigues surrounding the event.
The PDP convention has drawn prominent party leaders from across the country, as internal alignments and power blocs continue to shape conversations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
