On Tuesday, the Edo State University, Uzairue, in the Etsako West Local Government Area of the State, announced that 283 students would get diplomas during the convocation ceremony for the 2021–2022 academic session, which is slated for November 5, 2022.

This was revealed by the institution’s vice chancellor, professor Emmanuel Aluyor, at a news conference to commemorate the school’s fourth convocation ceremony.

Aluyor stated that the college would also award master’s degrees to the first group of its 26 pupils.
“The university will grant 283 undergraduate degrees to individuals who have been judged deserving in both character and learning.

26 graduates will receive master’s degrees from Edo University Uzairue in a variety of subjects during the upcoming convocation ceremony on November 5.

“Statistics research reveals that 120 students received second-class honors and 15 pupils graduated with first-class honors” (upper division).

He stated that there were “102 pupils with second class honours (lower division), 11 graduates with third-class degrees, 26 graduates with master’s degrees, and nine graduates with post-graduate diplomas.”

Since its founding in 2006, the university, according to Aluyor, has accomplished a great deal. He continued by saying that the university administration would always be dedicated to the institution’s progress and to upholding the highest standard of providing Nigerians with quality education.

According to the VC, the university’s student population had grown positively due to a rise in faculties, departmentally authorized accredited programs, and enrollment.

“The National Universities Commission (NUC) granted a quota of 500 students for admission to the institution in 2006 when the academic session began.

The quota has now been raised to 1,906 as of today. The student population was 79 when the school first opened, but as of now, it is hoped that since admission is still being accepted, the population will reach around 3,500 students by the time the 2022–2023 academic year is over.
Aluyor declared that the institution would keep up its practice of awarding N5 million in prizes to graduating students with the greatest entrepreneurial company ideas.

“Edo University Uzairue’s objective is for its students to graduate with entrepreneurial abilities that will enable them to hire employees in addition to being self-employed.
