Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has disclosed that his first son, Nino, has no plans to step into his shoes as a musician. Instead, the 18-year-old, who already plays the saxophone impressively, aims to pursue a career in medicine.

2Baba made the revelation during his 25th anniversary celebration in the music industry at an event in Abuja. Bringing Nino on stage, he excited the crowd with, “Make some noise for my son, Nino!” before announcing the teenager’s career choice.

“He said he doesn’t want to be a singer. He wants to be a doctor,” the legendary singer added, drawing loud cheers from the audience.

Nino Idibia, born on January 15, 2006, to 2Baba and his ex-partner, Sumbo Adeoye, is a saxophonist, model, and social media influencer.

Following a parent’s artistic path is common in Nigeria’s entertainment scene. Recently, Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Balogun, launched his career as “Champz,” releasing his debut EP Champions’ Arrival at just 14.
