Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has spoken openly about the long-running feud between himself and former bandmate Blackface, firmly stating that their other ex-member, Faze, has no involvement in the dispute.
The singer addressed the issue while performing at the Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, where he took a moment to clarify lingering questions surrounding the fractured relationship within the defunct music group, Plantashun Boiz.
2Face told the crowd that although tensions between him and Blackface have persisted over the years, Faze has consistently remained neutral and uninvolved in the conflict. He stressed that the disagreement is strictly between him and Blackface and should not be extended to their former bandmate.
According to 2Face, Plantashun Boiz was originally made up of Blackface, Faze, and himself, but unforeseen circumstances led to Blackface’s absence from current activities associated with the group. Despite this, he emphasized that Faze continues to stand with him and remains an integral part of representing the Plantashun Boiz legacy.
The rift between 2Face and Blackface dates back to the early 2000s following the group’s breakup. Since then, Blackface has repeatedly accused 2Face of intellectual property theft, allegations the award-winning singer has consistently denied. Several reconciliation attempts have been made over the years, but efforts to restore peace have often collapsed, leaving the relationship strained.
2Face’s latest remarks appear aimed at setting the record straight, distancing Faze from the dispute and reaffirming unity where it still exists.
