Three policemen were killed in a second attack by gunmen on the Ogidi Police Area Command in the Anambra State local government of Idemili North.

The thugs attacked the station for the second time in five days. One of the gunmen was killed during the initial assault, and the on-duty police officers were able to chase them away.
By setting the structure on fire and destroying other priceless artifacts in the area command, they were able to inflict enormous damage this time.

The extent of destruction is still being assessed, according to Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police public relations officer (PPRO), who confirmed the attack on Saturday.

The hoodlums began firing randomly as they approached the area command and then threw IEDs and petrol bombs to get entry, according to Ikenga. Sadly, damage was done to the police station’s buildings.

Yet, the command noted this attack’s loss of life and assets with great concern.

We urge restraint since the police are steadfast in denying these criminal elements the space they need to carry out their heinous deeds and improving the safety of people and property in the state.

He urged the locals not to worry and informed that the command had increased security in the region.
