5 Rescued as Partially Demolished Building Collapses Again in Abuja’s Vidaz Estate

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the collapse of a building in Vidaz Estate, Sabon Lugbe extension, Abuja. Five individuals were trapped in the rubble but were later rescued, with no fatalities reported.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated that the structure had been previously demolished by FCT authorities due to illegal land acquisition. However, the weakened remains of the building collapsed again when scavengers tampered with it, seeking scrap metal. The FCT Police warned the public to avoid demolished and unstable sites to ensure safety.
