50 yrs man sentence to 60 years in jail for sexual abuse on a 9yrs old

A High Court in Orereokpe has sentenced Mr. Collins, a 56-year-old man, to 60 years of hard labor for the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl in Ugolo, Delta State, in 2023. Additionally, he has been ordered to pay the victim 50 million naira in compensation.

At one point, Mr. Collins attempted to bribe Comrade Israel Joe, who was overseeing the case, offering ₦111,000 to make the issue go away. However, Mr. Joe reported the bribe and handed over the money to the police in Orereokpe, subsequently pursuing the case to ensure justice for the innocent child.

On February 25, 2026, justice was finally served. The radio station reported on the verdict this morning, and I feel a sense of fulfillment upon hearing it. I hope he faces continuous punishment in prison, as he took pleasure in harming children.
