Pastor Williams Kumuyi, General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, has advised Christians to take action with their prayers ahead of the upcoming 2023 general election.
Kumuyi gave the advice on Wednesday in Asaba, Delta State’s capital, as he arrived for a six-day global crusade.
“We are praying for the election, but we must follow up our prayers with action by voting in large numbers,” he said.
Action in the sense that all those who are eligible to vote should be informed and not simply vote for the wrong leaders. We must exercise caution when deciding who will rule over us.
“We are currently experiencing security and economic issues; we are praying, but we need to come out in force to elect good leaders.” All of these candidates want to win, and no one wants to lose after spending so much money on campaigning, but two, three, or four people cannot be president at the same time.
“Only one person will be president at a time, it is not a do or die affair. Whoever wins the remainder should accept it. I’m urging the candidates to say what they want without fighting.”
The Deeper Life General Superintendent stated that he, like every other Nigerian, was concerned about the country’s insecurity and hardship, adding that “even if one person goes hungry, I’m not comfortable.”
Kumuyi also stated that the global crusade will be a life-changing encounter with God. From January 26 to 31, 2023, the crusade will be held at Asaba’s Cenotaph.
