Mohammed Bago

The Minna Airport Runway construction project has been rejected by Mohammed Bago, the governor of Niger State, who claims the work is poorly done.

Despite the money he had been given, he claimed that the contractor had not fulfilled the requirements of the contract.
The governor was obviously not thrilled when he visited the airport on Wednesday to evaluate the recently rebuilt runway. He voiced his displeasure with the caliber of the job completed.

Then, as the state prepared to host guests for the upcoming Green Economy Summit scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2023, he pushed the contractor to promptly return to the site and fix the runway to the agreed quality.

Along with the governor were Comrade Yakubu Garba, his deputy, Kabir Yusuf Muhammad, the managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Abdullahi Idris Garba, the chairman of the House Committee on Aviation, and a few members of the State Executive Council.
Remember that the previous administration allocated the runway project to the federal government.

On one of the governor’s inspection trips, the contractor in charge of the runway project gave an assurance that standard work would be delivered by mid-August 2023.
