Many Nigerians have voiced indignation about the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s hike in electricity tariffs for Band A users.

Musliu Oseni, the Vice Chairman of NERC, revealed on Wednesday that the rise will result in users paying N225 per kilowatt hour (KW/h) instead of N66.
Customers in Band A receive 20 to 24 hours of electricity every day.

According to the Band categorization, consumers in Band A receive 20-24 hours of electricity per day, subscribers in Band B receive 16 to 20 hours, and those in Band C receive 12 to 16 hours.

Furthermore, Band D subscribers receive eight to twelve hours of electricity use every day, whereas Band E members only get four to eight hours.
