Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has pledged to mobilise party leaders and grassroots supporters across the state for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The governor linked his support for Tinubu to Federal Government projects in agriculture, livestock development, infrastructure, healthcare and energy. He spoke on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Gombe chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, where the group presented 26 campaign vehicles to strengthen grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Inuwa Yahaya thanked the President for supporting Gombe’s socio-economic development. He highlighted the Federal Government’s backing for the Livestock and Agro-Development Zone and the ongoing construction of the Gombe-Biu Super Highway.

He said Tinubu’s approval of ₦120 billion for the livestock project would increase agricultural output, improve livestock value chains, create jobs and support economic growth across Gombe and the wider North-East region.

The governor added that these projects had given residents reasons to appreciate the President’s commitment to the state. He promised to engage party leaders, stakeholders and grassroots organisations to support Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.

He also praised the movement’s founder and Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for donating the 26 vehicles.

Representing Tompolo, High Chief Kestin Pondi said the vehicles would expand the group’s reach and help communicate Tinubu’s policies and vision to communities across the state.

Pondi also commended Inuwa Yahaya’s investments in roads, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development. He said he had been informed that the governor was overseeing road construction covering at least 100 kilometres in each of Gombe’s 11 local government areas.

“This is development. This is connectivity. This is the dividend of democracy. If all governors had done what you have done, we would have less to worry about during campaigns, because performance would do the campaigning for us,” he said.

Gombe State House of Assembly Speaker Mohammed Abubakar Luggerewo also praised the movement’s mobilisation efforts and called for continued cooperation between federal and state governments.

The movement’s National Coordinator, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, urged residents to take part in its activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election. State Coordinator Khalid Ahmed Kumo thanked the governor for his support and pledged continued engagement with APC structures across Gombe.

What impact could grassroots mobilisation and government projects have on the 2027 election campaign?
