President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to the Holy City.

The visit will give the President an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.

While in Makkah, Tinubu is expected to perform the religious rites associated with Umrah and seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.

Umrah, often called the lesser pilgrimage, can be performed at any time of the year. This differs from the annual Hajj pilgrimage, which takes place during a specific period on the Islamic calendar.

The President’s journey highlights the role of spiritual devotion and prayer as he seeks divine guidance for the country’s affairs and the well-being of Nigerians.

Nigeria continues to face challenges linked to peace, national unity, stability and development. The government has maintained its focus on addressing these issues and improving citizens’ living conditions.

Tinubu’s Umrah pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia comes as the country continues its efforts to strengthen national cohesion and pursue sustainable progress for its people.
