Update: My Election, A Surprise Package By My Colleagues – Jigawa’s New Speaker

The newly elected Speaker of Jigawa State House of Assembly, Idris Garba, alias Kareka, said his election came to him as a surprise as he never knew there was such a plan in the offing among his colleagues to elect him for a second time as the Speaker of the assembly. Garba, was elected on Thursday morning following the impeachment of the former speaker, Isa Idris Gwaram. Gwaram was impeached by 20 out of 30 members of the state assembly. Garba, added that during his first election as a speaker in 2015, there was perfect plan for such in which all participated but for his second election, Garba described it as a surprise package.
