Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has appointed the immediate-past Commissioner for Environment, Dr Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, as the Chief of Staff. A statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abba Anwar, said Makoda was appointed as chief of staff due to his commitment towards the feats achieved in Ganduje’s first tenure. “Makoda is always an asset to our dear state, hence the need to carry him along in my second tenure in office,” the statement quoted the governor as saying. The governor also urged the new chief of staff to remain focused and committed to his assigned duty. Dr. Makoda was born on 2nd February, 1966, at Makoda local government and attended his primary and post primary schools in Makoda local government. He obtained a Diploma certificate in Educational Management, B.A. Library/ Political Science, Postgraduate Diploma in Management and bagged Masters in Business Administration (MBA), all from Bayero University, Kano. He was a Two-Time chairman of Makoda local government, former State Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), former Deputy State Chairman of the PDP and former Special Adviser on Metropolitan Affairs.
