Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has described FIFA’s decision to ban him for life as unfair.
In an interview with Channels Sports, Mr Siasia says he did not receive bribes and expects the adjudicatory chamber of the Independent Ethics Committee to have a fair hearing before giving a verdict.
Siasia admits he was contacted by the committee via e-mail but didn’t see it during the period of investigation.
According to the former Super Eagles coach, it is unfair for FIFA to give other people involved in the investigation a one-year suspension and issue him a lifetime ban.
Siasia was expected to brief the media today in Abuja but didn’t show up for the briefing.
However, his legal representative confirmed that there is a planned legal action against the decision.
Fifa imposed a life ban on the former Super Eagles player after finding him guilty of accepting that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches.
In addition, he has been fined 50,000 Swiss Francs, that’s about 18.5 million naira.
