Another Shi’ites Procession Disrupted By Police In Abuja

The members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), on Friday had another procession which was cut short by the police.  around Bannex Plaza, Wuse in Abuja.

Report said, the procession on Sultan Abubakar Road ended up in disruption when the police reportedly fired tear gas canisters and gunshots in the air forcing the Shi’ites and passers-by to run for safety.

The Shi’ites had planned to hold a nationwide procession on Saturday in commemoration of their annual Arbaeen trek, sparking fears of another confrontation with security agencies.
