An Abuja Federal High Court presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, has reduced the bail term earlier imposed on the co-convener of RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare.
It would be recalled that Ojukwu had imposed a N100m bail bond on Sowore while Bakare got N50m, following charges of treasonable felony levelled against them.
Sowore, a former dstudent union leader, was picked up by the Department of State Services, DSS, following his call for revolution against the Federal Government.
However, the judge during Monday’s hearing reduced Sowore’s bail from N100m to N50m, while Bakare’s bail was reduced from N50m to N20m.
The judge said she found it difficult to believe a man of Sowore’s pedigree did not have anyone to deposit N50 million.
She consequently reduced the bail terms granted Sowore and adjourned the matter until November 6 and 7.
