The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC), has described the ruling of a Lagos State High Court which convicted the Senate’s Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu as “unfair.”

Chairman of APC in Abia State, Donatus Nwankpa, said the ruling was an “arranged court judgment” against Kalu, who was a former governor of the state.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday few hours after after the ruling, Nwankpa said the state chapter of the party would meet to decide its next step.

“The party will meet to take a position on the judgment but as an individual, I am very saddened by the judgment.I am not convinced that judgment was given.”

According to him, he never had confidence that Kalu would get judgment, stressing that“considering the utterances of the judge, I’m highly convinced that something went wrong. The judgment is not fair.”

It would be recalled that Justice Mohammed Idris convicted Kalu on 39 counts of N.2billion fraud and money laundering preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
