Four government employees are detained by the police after they empty their late colleague’s bank account.

Police officers in the state of Bauchi have detained Nasiru Samaila, a member of the Bauchi State Ministry of Finance, along with three other people for allegedly emptying the bank account of a deceased colleague.

Auwal Jibrin, a 27-year-old employee of the ministry of finance, Tijjani Mohammad, a 27-year-old resident of state-run Bauchi, and Faruq Mohammad Nasiru, a 19-year-old IT student at ATAB Abubakar Tatari Polytechnic, which is affiliated with the ministry of finance, are the other three suspects.

According to information obtained, the suspects were detained as a result of a complaint made by Samira Jibrin, a relative of Jibrin Adamu, who was employed by the Bauchi State Ministry of Finance until his passing on February 12, 2021. On Tuesday, September 6, she claimed that she had gone to process her father’s benefit in the Bauchi Ministry of Finance, but found that some people had processed and withdrew her late father’s compensation using fraudulent paperwork.
