Insecurity: Gunmen snatch cops

Shooters have stole around three cops appended to Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos.

It was discovered that the occurrence happened Thursday evening when the cops ran into the ruffians at Wasinmi in Ewekoro Neighborhood Government Area of Ogun State.

The cops were purportedly en route to explore a matter in the adjoining state.

The officials, in understanding to the police practice for officials who cross state visitors on true task, were reserved at the Police Division in Wasinmi, before they left for their planned spot of task.

PREMIUM TIMES assembled that the officials, drove by an Auditor of Police, Oladipo Olayemi, were caught while en route to their examination point by their abductors, who greeted them at around 2:30 p.m.

The officials were moving in a business vehicle however while the driver of the vehicle fortunately got away, the officials were removed.

The Divisional Cop in Ewekoro had driven his men into the shrub in look for the missing police officers.

When reached, the Ogun State police representative, Abimbola Oyeyemi, affirmed the occurrence.

Mr Oyeyemi, a director of police, said that “individuals were grabbed, however just a single police officer was involved.”

Mr Oyeyemi, who wouldn’t specify the quantity of seized casualties, further said the police is on the path of the ruffians, guaranteeing that the casualties would be generally saved safe.
