Dr. Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate and Peter Obi’s running partner, has urged party members to avoid engaging in ethnic and religious politics.

While speaking to party members in Bauchi, Baba-Ahmed made the call, advising them to concentrate on respectable candidates free of religious and ethical prejudices.

Prior to the general elections in 2023, he warned the party members to avoid inciting racial or religious tension.

He claimed, “I am here Bauchi to urge you people not to give up on the work you are making for the labor party in the nation.

“Don’t get caught up in matters of religion and ethnicity; politics is not about religion; if it were, then we should give the clergy the power to rule.

Politics is neither a matter of religion nor ethnicity because God has already divided us into several groups and tribes around the globe.
According to Baba-Ahmed, if Nigerians avoided religious and ethnic politics, it would not only foster peace but also pave the way for the formation of capable leaders in the nation.

The ObiDatti running mate asked party members to go above and above in spreading awareness of the Labour Party’s platform and “ObiDatti mandate.”
Additionally, Mr. Hussaini Saraki, Chairman of the Labour Party in Bauchi State, promised to keep the public and party members informed about the qualifications of the presidential candidate and his vice presidential running mate.

He claimed that the Labour Party was succeeding despite the opposition party and that Datti’s presence would inspire and raise their spirits.
