In Zamfara, bandits kidnap four peasants and demand new Naira notes as ransom.

In the Kolo village of Gusau Local Government Area in Zamfara State, bandits kidnapped four persons but refused to accept old naira notes as ransom.

According to reports, the bandits initially demanded N10m as ransom but following negotiations, agreed to take N5m.
The terrorists said on Tuesday that they would not be collecting old Naira notes just as we were pooling our resources to figure out how to raise the five million naira through collective effort. A source who spoke to newsmen bemoaned, “They indicated that they would detain the abducted folks in their camps until next month, December, when the new naira notes would be in circulation.
