Five people who were using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as a ruse to swindle unwary members of the public have been detained by Delta State police.
The suspects are: Prince Allison (age 29), George Chisom Onyeweagu (age 29), Duke Okoro (age 40), Joseph Osinachi (age 23), and Onyocha Stanley. They are based in Asaba, Owerri, Port Harcourt, and Lagos (32).

The Delta State Police Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed their arrest on Friday morning and said that the arrest was made possible by a sting operation carried out by members of the command’s Decoy Squad.
He claimed that the agents followed the suspects to their hiding place in a hotel in Asaba, where they hibernate to prepare their next action, based on reliable information.
“The suspects have admitted to robbing many victims from various sections of the state,” he said.
