A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Bwari has ordered that Chief Edozie Njoku, an APGA factional leader, and another person be remanded in custody for their alleged involvement in the fabrication of a Supreme Court decision.
Njoku and his co-defendant Chukwuemeka Nwoga were ordered to remain in the Suleja prison in Niger State until November 30, when Justice Mohammed Magudu would make a decision regarding their bail request.
Soon after they had entered a not guilty plea to a 14-count charge brought against them by the Inspector General of Police, their attorney, Panam Ntui, had advocated for their release on bond (IGP).
The prosecuting attorney, Rimamsomte Ezekiel, opposed the bail request, claiming that the defendants’ alleged crimes are not trivial and that several carry potential sentences of 14 years in prison if found guilty.
