Only 24 hours after taking office, Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, is said to have fired 12,000 employees and deposed 3 monarchs.
Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke’s principal press secretary, revealed in a statement on November 28 that the Governor also annulled the appointment of 30 Permanent Secretaries and suspended the OSIEC chairman members.
According to The Nation, the governor signed six executive orders on Monday, one of which ordered the state government’s accounts in all banks and other financial institutions to be frozen.
Akinrun of Ikinrun Oba Yinusa Akadiri, Aree of Ire Oba Ademola Oluponle, and Owa of Igbajo Oba Gboyega Famodun are the afflicted monarchs. He asked security personnel to take over after ordering the monarch to leave the palace.
Rasheed claimed that the newly elected governor issued executive orders pertaining to chieftaincy, appointments, the formation of a review panel, staff audits, and employment difficulties.
