Three pupils from Akure High School in Ondo State were detained by Ondo State Police Command agents for allegedly gang-raping a female student in Secondary Senior School 1 who was 14 years old.
According to information obtained by The Guardian, the crime was done by the trio—Matthew, 17, Olawale Tobi, 18, and Ajayi Michael, 17—during school hours.
The boys allegedly waylaid and sexually attacked the victim as she was returning from a nearby bush inside the school where she had gone to urinate.
The child, who was in discomfort, reportedly entered the classroom wearing a bloodstain on her clothes, according to sources inside the school.

The girl revealed what happened after the incident sparked interest among the pupils and professors.
According to a source, the three companions had been following and bothering the girl in class prior to the event.
“The girl had told her pals that one of the boys had been bugging her and requesting sex. But she declined him.
The teenager phoned his two friends to help him in sexually abusing the girl in a remote location, the source claimed, in order to fulfill his threat to win the girl at all costs.
When contacted, Superintendent of Police (SP) Funmilayo Odunlami, the Command’s spokeswoman, verified the occurrence and stated that the culprits had already been taken into custody.
She said that the investigation had started and that the Command was taking the required action.
“There is a case of conspiracy and defilement against the three of Akure High School pupils Idris Matthew, 17, Olawale Tobi, 18, and Ajayi Michael, 17.
They gang-raped a 14-year-old pupil after luring her into a thicket beyond the school gate. The three suspects are being held,” said Odunlami.
