In the quarterfinal of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday at the Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar, England’s Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot to tie the game against France.

Harry Kane scored a critical goal for England in their quest to reach the final four after Aurelien Tchouameni fouled Bukayo Saka. Kane’s penalty sent Hugo Lloris to the other side of the goal.

Kane now has as many goals at the FIFA World Cup as Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the competition after Portugal’s quarterfinal loss to Morocco.

His overall number of goals for England increased to 53, tying him with Wayne Rooney for the nation’s joint-highest goal scorer honors on this historic FIFA World Cup night.

More will come.
