On Wednesday, Manchester City will play Leeds United at Elland Road in its first Premier League match since the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
When the two teams last met in the Premier League on April 30, 2022, in one of Matchweek 34’s fixtures, City defeated Leeds 4-0 at the same venue.
With a game in hand, defending champion City trailed table-topper Liverpool by two points.
An early goal calmed City’s worries, with Spanish midfielder Rodri looping a header into the net with 13 minutes on the clock to give the visitors the lead.
Leeds continued the pressure on City, with a loud crowd doing everything they could to make things tough, but Nathan Ake’s goal in the 54th minute ultimately killed any hope of the home fans getting anything out of the game.
Leeds continued to waste chances before City put the game to bed 12 minutes from time, with Gabriel Jesus continuing his superb run in front of goal, before Fernandinho added a fourth in stoppage time.
