SP Mojeed Salami, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Seme Police Division in Lagos State, slumped and died in his office on Tuesday, January 10.
According to police sources, the deceased complained of a headache on the day in question and went to the hospital. He returned, but he was still sick. He asked his orderly to summon the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) to his office because he needed to leave but couldn’t without turning over official proceedings to the DCO. According to reports, the orderly returned to meet the deceased on the floor, who was gasping for air. He was airlifted to Badagry General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police command’s spokesperson, confirmed the death, saying,
“He passed away on Tuesday. It surprised everyone because there was nothing seriously wrong with his health. They claimed he only complained about a minor headache, went to the hospital, returned to work, and died soon after.”
