Hajia Naja’atu Mohammed, a former director of the All Progressives Congress’s Presidential Campaign Council, has given an explanation of why she choose to endorse Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party over Peter Obi of the Labour Party for the presidency in the upcoming general elections.
During a question-and-answer session on the Morning Show program of Arise Television, Naja’atu gave her explanations.
She listed a lack of organization and a desire to leave a mark outside of geopolitics as factors that would prevent Obi from emerging on February 25.
Naja’atu resigned from her position with Tinubu’s campaign team and the APC.
The campaign council for Tinubu, however, disputed her claim of resignation and stated that she was fired for serving as a mole on the campaign staff.
In response to a question about her preference for Atiku over Tinubu as the next president, Naja’atu remarked that she was torn between the two.
“I’m not doing Atiku today for anything,” she declared. I stated my justifications and claimed that Peter Obi is an unorganized movement.
“I also mentioned that it is not even about Peter Obi; rather, it is the first time that Nigerian youngsters have a voice and are banding together to establish some sort of movement. Mr. Peter Obi won’t outlive this movement.
They have a systemic issue, as I stated.
“I’ll give you an example; Buhari received 15 million votes every election since 2003, yet he was denied the presidency.
“Why? Why didn’t Buhari win despite the cult-like support the North offered him? He was unable to build bridges and had structural issues, which prevented him from winning.
“The only reason he was able to win the presidency was because of the coalition, which he had repeatedly denied, particularly with the Southwest.
She said, “I have no luxury of time, which is why I said I am choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea.
