The National Youth Service Corps’ new director general, Yushau Dogara, has been urged to take action against a group that issuing phony NYSC certificates to members of the public by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria.

The group claimed on Thursday that it believed a syndicate was involved in the scam and that it felt the syndicate’s role in the scheme was to entice and deceive the public, especially those running for political office.

HURIWA stressed that the members of the syndicate might also be participants in the scheme when he indicated that the certificates being provided are designated as “Oluwole NYSC certifications.”

This was announced by the rights advocacy group on Thursday in Abuja.

HURIWA added that the new DG should form a committee to look into the situation and find the members of the syndicate responsible for the heinous deed.

The rights advocacy group was reported by Daily Post as saying, “We will be writing to the new Director General of the NYSC to challenge him to put up an independent panel of investigators to discover the members of this syndicate.”
