The renowned Hollywood producer Akiva Goldsman has officially announced the news that countless people have been waiting to hear for years: there will be a second I Am Legend film.
The renowned Warner Bros. movie executive got down with Deadline to discuss the impending sequel and revealed that Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan will star in it.
Additionally, he stated that the eagerly anticipated sequel will “track back to the original [Richard] Matheson book” and examine the repercussions of the film’s alternate ending.
He explained, “This [sequel] will begin a few decades after the first.”
I’m completely enamored with The Last of Us, in which the planet is not only post-apocalyptic but has also passed 20–30 years.
“You can see how the earth reclaims the planet, and there is something lovely in the notion of what will happen as man ceases to be the main tenant?
That will be particularly striking in New York, he said.
“The possibilities are unlimited, but I don’t know if they’ll climb up to the Empire State building.”
Dr. Robert Neville, played by Will Smith, makes the decision to give his life at the end of the original movie in order to save Anna and Ethan (Alice Braga) (Charlie Tahan).
In order to put an end to the infectious apocalypse, Dr. Neville finds a treatment just in time and permits Anna and Ethan to deliver it to the authorities.
On the DVD, there was a different epilogue where Smith’s character did not commit suicide among the Darkseekers.
In a conversation with the alpha male, he realizes that because of his extensive research on them, they view him as the bad guy.
Although it’s unknown how Michael B. Jordan’s role will factor into the sequel, it will undoubtedly be a wonderful film.
Fans undoubtedly enjoyed the 2007 movie, which earned a staggering USD$585 million (AUD$847 million, £486 million) globally.
Therefore, it would make sense that the studio has been attempting to replicate the success of the first picture for years.
While Goldsman was unable to go into any detail on the I Am Legend sequel, he was able to share some other delicious rumors.
He affirmed that as part of the producer’s successful return to Warner Bros. Pictures, fans will get a Constantine sequel starring Keanu Reeves.
According to Deadline, he stated, “We’re starting with the sequel to Constantine starring Keanu Reeves that Francis Lawrence will direct.”
Francis, Keanu, and I have been very far along in the story-breaking stage. We’re doing it with JJ Abrams.
Fans hoped for a Constantine sequel despite the fact that the first film was intended to be a one-off due to Keanu Reeves’ great performance as the title character, a compelling plot, and the film’s USD$280 million (AUD$405 million, £243 million) in international box office receipts.
Reeves will return to the role of demonologist and otherworldly exorcist John Constantine.
We are in such a rush.
