Oyibo Chukwu, the Labour Party candidate for the Enugu East senatorial seat, was assassinated.
A lawyer named Oyibo allegedly suffered an assault upon his return from a campaign stop in the Agbani region.
He was said to have been burned inside his car, and it was believed that three other people were also inside, however it was not yet clear how many of them perished.
Additionally, it was discovered that the APC candidate for governor in the state, Uche Nnaji, was also attacked at the scene of Oyibo’s death.
