In an attack on Segun Gbayi’s convoy, who is running for the House of Representatives in the Lagos Mainland Constituency of the Peoples Democratic Party, at least two individuals were hurt on Thursday.
The attack by the unidentified gunmen took place in Yaba’s Makoko neighborhood in Lagos State.
The terrorists also opened fire on and vandalized the cars of the security escorts attached to the convoy.
Gbayi, though, narrowly avoided being wounded in the attack.
In response, Gbayi said that the attack was carried out in order to deny party members and supporters the right to vote in tomorrow’s election.
He declared, “This attack was brutally carried out to deter us from using our democratic franchise.”
He gave the general public and voters the advice to stay safe during this time and to alert security personnel if there is any threat to human life, vandalism, or violent attack.
