Moustapha Sylla, an Ivory Coast football player, passed away on Sunday after becoming ill while participating in a first division game, according to his club Racing d’Abidjan.
While being transported to the hospital, the 21-year-old defender passed tragically.
An sickness that occurred on the field during the RCA vs. Sol FC encounter caused our defender Moustapha Sylla to pass away this evening, according to a club statement.
Moustapha passed away during the transport to the hospital. He joined the club in September of last year, when he was just 21 years old, club president Logossina Cisse confirmed to AFP.
In 2020, Racing d’Abidjan won the national title and is now ranked eighth.
