The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been proclaimed the victor of the state’s governorship election by INEC.

AbdulRazaq received 273,424 votes to win the election, according to the Returning Officer, Prof. Isaac Itodo, Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Makurdi, Benue State, who announced the results on Sunday evening at the INEC headquarters in Ilorin, the state capital.

According to him, AbdulRazaq received 155,490 more votes than the PDP’s Alh. Abdullahi Yaman, who finished second in the race. Alh. Hakeem Lawal of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) finished in a distant third place with 18,922 votes.

Itodo named AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq of the APC the victor of the governorship election held on March 18, 2023. “Having satisfied the requirements of the law by scoring the highest votes of 273,424, I today declare AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq of the APC as the winner,” Itodo said.
