On Wednesday, the Lagos State Government brought Frederick Nkemdilim Nwajagu and Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate in Lagos before Justice Yetunde Adesanya of a Lagos High Court sitting in Tafawa Balewa Square on charges of terrorism.
Nwajagu was charged with nine counts, including attempting to finance terrorism, participating in terrorism, meeting to promote a prohibited organization, and preparing to conduct terrorism.
His offenses include violating the provisions of sections 12(c), 18, 21, 29, and 12(a) of the Terrorism (Prevention & Prohibition) Act, 2022, among others, according to a lawsuit with the case number LD/21505C/2023.
The Deputy Director of the Ministry of Justice, the state’s attorney, requested that the defendant be permitted to enter a plea. The accused refuted the accusation and entered a not guilty plea to all counts.
The trial date was set for July 4 and 5, 2023, by the judge.
