According to reports, Samuel Adegoke, a student at the Federal Polytechnic in Ilaro, Ogun State, killed himself by ingesting some chemical after losing his friend’s and his own tuition in an internet bet.

Our source learned that the deceased allegedly utilized his school fee to wager money online on Friday but lost.

Adegoke, a National Diploma II student in Electrical Electronic Engineering, is said to have killed himself on Monday while his classmates were getting ready for their first-semester exam.

He allegedly stole the password from his roommate and conned him into paying for a game that he lost.

It was learned that the school had issued a warning that no student would be permitted to sit for a test if their registration was incomplete.

A specialist hospital outside the school in Ilaro was recommended after Adegoke was apparently brought to the school clinic, where he eventually passed away.

The school immediately referred him to a specialty hospital to save his life, according to Sola Abiala, the school’s deputy registrar for public relations, who confirmed the occurrence. However, he was pronounced dead soon after being admitted to the hospital.

When our correspondent called Abiala, she replied, “He died on Monday morning as the exam was about to begin.

He said that the late student’s use of a chemical substance was discovered at the specialty hospital.
