Jesse Lingard, a former midfielder for Manchester United and England, will depart Nottingham Forest when his contract expires.
After Forest was promoted to the Premier League the previous year, Lingard joined the club, but he struggled to make an impression at the City Ground.
The 30-year-old opted down a lucrative one-year free agent contract with Forest in favor of Forest after making an impression while on loan from United in 2021.
Lingard was one of the 12 players fired by manager Steve Cooper on Friday after appearing for Forest just 20 times in all competitions.
He only made four appearances in 2023, and he is now searching for a third club in three years.
After leaving United’s junior program, Lingard was expected to become a household name. In recent weeks, a number of foreign teams have been connected to Lingard.
