Tunji Wusu –

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been taken to an unidentified private facility from the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters in Abuja.

After allegedly refusing to cooperate with the secret police when they sought statements from him while he was in their custody, it was learned that the embattled suspended anti-graft agency leader was transferred to another location so that authorities could have complete control over him.

Bawa allegedly informed investigators earlier that the DSS had no authority to hold him without charges, which is why he refused to record any remarks while being held.

Bawa, however, was reportedly transferred from the DSS headquarters to one of its private facilities, according to a source who purportedly spoke with SaharaReporters on the subject on Tuesday.
