King Charles III of the United Kingdom recently extended a special invitation to Tony Onyemeachi Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings, to assist recruit a new generation of money to tackle climate change.
Those in the know claim that King Charles III and US President Joe Biden requested the invitation after Biden’s attendance at the Paris, France-based Summit for a New Global Financing Pact.
At the climate finance mobilisation event in London, the investor and philanthropist worked with King Charles III and Vice President Joe Biden to draw in new sources of funding for the fight against climate change.
Through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Elumelu has separated himself from his peers as one of Africa’s most well-known proponents of equitable climate finance and a key financier of young African entrepreneurs seeking to develop sustainable climate solutions.
Along with Grant Sharps, UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, and John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy on Climate, Elumelu served as the event’s representative for the African commercial sector.
