Tunji Wusu –

In response to the death of Dr. Diaso Vwaere, one of its members, in an elevator accident, the Lagos State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has launched an indefinite strike in three hospitals.

The NMA was made public by its Chairman, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu, and Secretary, Dr. Ismail Ajibowo, in a statement on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. They revealed that the deceased doctor apparently spent more than 40 minutes trapped in the elevator before being freed.

As a result of the government’s assessment of the prior blood donation policy, “we were also reliably informed that there was no blood available for resuscitation,”

Among other requests, the NMA announced five days of morning.

We order an indefinite strike by all of our doctors at the three government hospitals on the island until the investigations are finished and justice is served, it continued.
