Tunji Wusu –

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike is about to start demolishing residences that were erected unlawfully.

This was said by Wike during his inaugural speech on Monday at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) office.

The Minister of the FCT (state), Mariya Mahmud, stood by Wike’s side as he declared, “People who are twisting the master plan of Abuja, too bad… There is trash all over. What are those receiving payment for garbage pickup doing? Therefore, we must also take a seat and consider various methods of disposing of rubbish. It is crucial. If you know you have built somewhere you are not allowed to have erected, it will go down, whether you are a minister or an ambassador. What a shame all those individuals are doing to the Abuja master plan.

“Your house must be demolished if you are aware that you have built where you are not supposed to. The green space must return to those who have taken it over to construct; sorry. Therefore, if you are aware of anyone who is involved or who has converted parks and green spaces into restaurants, we won’t accept that. I apologize, but there is nothing I can do if your father or mother did that.

The time for land swindling is over; if the government gives the go-ahead and the landowners refuse to develop, the land will be lost. They will be revoked by me. We’ll take the land back and offer it to anybody who wish to build on it. all of you who have likewise resisted paying your ground rent. A covenant is broken when ground rent is not paid. Abuja too needs money. Ground rent is one of the income sources. As a result, I won’t be fatigued to revoke if you haven’t paid.
